Flanked by MD Andrew Pimblett and chairman Martin Street, L to R, Roger Heywood and wife Susan, John East and wife Christine
John started with the company as an engineering apprentice, working as a plater and welder before moving on to the installation fitting team. He moved into the sales office in 1973 and relocated to Bath in 1989 when he took over sales for the south. “I will miss the old team, but I am looking forward catching up with interests in caravanning, cycling and fly fishing,” he noted.
Roger started with the company in 1987 after an earlier career in engineering. During his retirement he plans to spend more time with his three grandchildren. He commented, “It will be good to have a life not driven by the alarm clock, but I have lots of outside interests to take up the time.”
Chairman Martin Street commented, “John and Roger have both given great service to the company and I wish them both a long and happy retirement. We have come a long way together and the business has grown substantially, but still remains a family business with a happy and tight knit team.”
Street Crane is the UK’s largest factory crane and hoist producer by a significant margin.
