Cerumen impaction is the number one cause of various degrees of temporary, treatable hearing loss. It is experienced by 57% of seniors, 33% of disabled people, 10% of children and 5% of health adults. People wearing hearing aids often complain of an increase in cerumen impaction. Cerumen buildup can affect patients even before a hearing aid is fitted. Patients who need a hearing aid fitting and suffer from the presence of earwax cannot have the device fitted on the spot. When the pathway to audiology is not completed as planned there are a number of potential consequences: reduced patient compliance resulting in extended reduced hearing and potentially losing contact with patients who do not return for the fitting. EARWAYS MEDICAL and Warner are pleased to offer an innovative solution to this issue, the EarWay Pro.

The EarWay® Pro device is an efficient yet simple tool for cerumen removal. Based on innovative, patented technology, EarWay Pro is designed with a flexible helical open profile tip, for easy navigation in the ear canal. The single-use device is rotated inward into the ear, collecting the cerumen and extracting it from the ear canal as a single cluster. The clinically tested device ensures that the cerumen is not pushed back into the ear canal during the extraction. The novel design of the EarWay Pro enables access to the ear canal without the need for expensive visualization equipment.
