Penang, Malaysia; September 7th, 2012 – Syabas Technology, makers of the award winning Popcorn Hour and PopBox media players, announce their latest piece of hardware intended for internet service providers and content providers, the FreeOTT player. Not much larger than a pack of playing cards, this pint-size device packs a whole lot of value. Powered by a Cavium ARM11 processor, the FreeOTT player provides easy access to online content through Syabas’ Cloud Media Apps Market.

“As IPTV and online streaming gains ground against traditional content delivery, we recognize the need for an ultra low cost device to help bring that content to the masses,” says Scott Walters, Project Manager at Syabas Technology. “The FreeOTT player is the answer. Small, easy to use and very affordable, companies can offer this to their subscribers free of charge. Who doesn’t like free?”

The FreeOTT player is powered by a USB cable from your TV or wall adapter, has integrated Wi-Fi and connects via HDMI or standard definition composite cables to your television. Offered as an ODM solution, companies can customize and brand their experience to fit their customer base. With access to over 100 additional apps on the Cloud Media Apps Market, FreeOTT represents an enticing package for people looking to access web content from their living room; no Smart TV required.
