OMNINET: New milestone with OMNITRACKER Version 10

Eckental, Germany - New version will give OMNITRACKER customers worldwide industry-leading capabilities, thanks to the Multi-Server Architecture and the Pay-Per-Use feature.

OMNINET – a leading supplier of software solutions for automating IT services based on the ITIL framework has released the 10th version of OMNITRACKER. The new version of the solution includes features that will allow both medium-sized and large enterprises to fully balance their automatic and dynamic load among different hardware platforms. In addition, the new version simultaneously offers failover-clustering. As with previous releases, version 10 includes around a few hundred features, some of which were proposed by OMNITRACKER customers. One example is the Auto-Update of the Windows-Smart-Client without administrator rights.

Thanks to the Multi-Server Architecture, the number of concurrent users is balanced among several servers running simultaneously. Therefore, users will be guaranteed a smooth platform performance, vastly independent of the size of the implementations or general workload.
“Thanks to the new Multi-Server Architecture, OMNITRACKER is setting new performance and availability benchmarks”, adds Dr. Joachim Lenzer, CEO of OMNINET.

Furthermore, the feature of failover-clustering supports server operations in a transparent failover cluster. Systems are therefore more resilient, and client connections are automatically and transparently redirected to another cluster node, should one of the servers fail. Thus, this guarantees an all-round availability. Additionally, this cost-effective high service does not rely on third party clustering, giving any company the perfect platform service to work on.

“The new version will be an important milestone not only for OMNINET, but also for large enterprises or professional service providers looking for an alternative to their existing ITSM solutions”, notes Benjamin Landorff, Product Manager at OMNINET. “Thanks to our Pay-Per Use license, invoicing can now be based on real usage, not on theoretical assumptions”.

In addition, the pay-per-usage makes it possible to cover peak usage scenarios using adaptive licensing on top of the concurrent licensing model. It will be possible to pay license fees on a per-use basis in addition to concurrent user licensing. This means that it is still possible to log-in during times where usage exceeds available licenses. Excess usage is simply recorded and billed on a monthly basis.
