Press release from: Altia, Incorporated

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, August 22, 2012 – Altia, Inc., the award-winning provider of user interface engineering tools for embedded systems, announces the latest release of Altia Design. Altia Design 10.2 brings new features to provide eye-catching effects to graphical user interfaces, plus enhanced management of hardware targets. The new Altia Design also supports new hardware targets from Apple, Freescale, NXP, Renesas and Texas Instruments.

"We're really excited about releasing Altia Design 10.2 to our customers," said Jason Williamson, Altia’s Director of Marketing. "The Display Object will make multi-layer image creation easier and provide more options for hardware-driven effects. With the 3D Object, our customers will have the capability to add eye-popping 3D content to their interfaces. The target management enhancements available in this new release will not only make it simpler for our customers to get their GUIs on target, but will also give Altia the capability to release new targets even faster."

Altia supports a wide array of hardware targets to provide our customers with greater flexibility to find the best-fit hardware for their product. With Altia Design 10.2, Altia expands their hardware support to include Multi-Pipeline Freescale MPC5645S (Rainbow) Target; Multi-Pipeline Freescale i.MX53 Target; Renesas Dx4-H; Renesas SH7268/9; NXP LPC1788; Texas Instruments TMS320C6748; and Apple iPhone / iPad.

Altia's user interface development tool chain allows users to build user interface models from scratch or import artists' assets from industry-standard design programs like Adobe® Photoshop® and Microsoft® Visio® to create a completely custom graphical user interface. These user interface models can be connected to a variety of simulation tools or C code to create a complex, user-driven model. This model can be used for management reviews and user testing, thus eliminating the need for costly hardware mockups. Once validated and approved, Altia customers generate graphics code for their Altia model using Altia DeepScreen. The graphics code generated by DeepScreen can be deployed directly to production hardware.

Altia, Inc. is a software company that provides user interface design and development tools that can be used from concept to final product code. Altia also provides engineering services to support customer projects. The company was founded in 1991 and its customers include United Technologies, Ford, Chrysler, NordicTrack, Guidant, Star Trac, Hollister, Lockheed Martin and hundreds of other leading manufacturers.
