New world record and awards for the best speakers - Carsten Koch from Germany gets Excellence Award

After New York, Vienna and Munich, the 5th international Speaker Slam took place in Germany, Mastershausen on July 16th. 79 participants from 12 nations competed against each other to award the best speakers. A new world record.

In between, Carsten Koch. The Master of Engineering from Bremen, Germany spoke in his current role as management consultant about transformations. In the view of many companies as well as our society, this is probably one of the most relevant topics at the moment when it comes to dealing with problems like the climate change, poverty in Africa or the consequences of the Covid pandemic. He was not only able to convince the audience, but also inspire the jury with his performance on stage. Therefore, he finally got honored with the Excellence Award for this inspiring speech.
In addition, jury awards were distributed in 3 categories as well as an audience award. These awards have been won by Roland Ngole (agency), Tina Schweitzer (audio / podcast), Stephan Freude (TV) and Waldemar Penner (audience).

The Speaker Slam is a speaker contest. Just like rhyming or rapping competitively in the popular poetry slams, speakers compete against each other with their personal topics in the Speaker Slam. The particular challenge: the speaker only has four minutes to inspire and excite the audience. Shortening a speech that extreme but still covering all important aspects and connecting with the audience, that is probably the elite class in professional speaking.

This event, initiated by top speaker Hermann Scherer, inspires with numerous speeches that are as colorful and diversified as life itself. The slammers themselves chose their topics to talk about. They write their speeches independently and decide whether to talk about general social topics or specific cases. Additionally, the event is accompanied by a professional jury.
The challenge of the evening was to inspire, convince and entertain the audience and the expert jury, which was made up of authors, speakers and entrepreneurs - all in just four minutes.
