Press release from: socialjoker - fruit for life

United Nations (UN) declared 2021 as Year of Fruits and Vegetables (#IYFV2021) to raise awarness of healthy and diverse food as well as to create positive effects on society, economy, the environment and to contribute to sustainable development. So why is it so important to the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the UN to point this out?

The worlds population could be fed, if industrial nations would stop food waste and optimize farming and usage of food. These aspects can be found in the UNs global sustainable goals from 2015. Every child learns and knows how healthy fruits and vegetables are but the worldwide growth of industrial produced foos, ready meals with their artificial ingredients and the price war contradict this.

Five portions a day of fruits and vegetables are recommended so the awareness of diverse food and balanced diet should rise.

Annuallty July 1st International Fruit Day takes place around the world. In a botanical sense all edible products of a blossom are fruits as well as many vegetables. 2007 students from Berlin created this festival to celebrate the diversity of people and fruits.

At a picnic members of families and friends as well as colleagues at work are invited to bring their favorite fruit to share with others. If there are leftovers donations to needy people or local NGO are welcome too.

The watermelon was voted Fruit Of The Year 2021, with popularity rising as sales in recent years show. According to the IYFV2021 this years motto of International Fruit Day is to ‘create change together’ for better living conditions.

#fruitday has become a worldwide phenomena in world wide web because there may be over 200.000 records in more than 40 countries such as Indonasia, India, Nigeria and Mexico.
