Microsoft is going ‘all in’ in the race of becoming the leader in the ‘mobile’ world. Just after the announcement of ‘Surface’, Microsoft previewed the features of Windows Phone 8 platform. Microsoft plans to align both of their operating systems closely. Security system, file system, device drivers will be the same for both the operating systems.

Windows Phone 8 will have multi-core processor support. It will facilitate dual core and quad-core processors and beyond. It is completely multi-core optimized. It will give Windows Phone 8 an upper hand over their rivals.It has 1280x768 and 1280x720 screen resolutions in addition to the current 480x800. With the introduction of Internet Explorer 10, users will have a better experience of interacting with HTML 5 and Java scripts.

Windows Phone 8 will have ‘Nokia Where’ platform integrated. It will also have offline support plus turn by turn navigation. One of the most promoted features of Windows Phone 8 is the Wallet hub. It needs third party integration in order to be a success. It is a lot like Apple's Passbook. It will carry credit cards, debit cards, as well as retailer loyalty cards, boarding card and other membership cards.
