Chef Mennan Tekeli Teams up with Restaurateur Fernando d’Avila as Partner in Ovenella
Popular Italian restaurant in Boca Raton names Executive Chef a partner, adding to its seasoned leadership(BOCA RATON, Fla.) June 21, 2012 – Ovenella, a Mediterranean influenced Italian restaurant in Boca Raton, has named Chef Mennan Tekeli a partner alongside Restaurateur and Co-Founder, Fernando d’Avila. Since launching the restaurant in 2011, Mennan has served as Ovenella’s Executive Chef, overseeing its menu development, food presentation, and kitchen operations.
Mennan is the culinary visionary behind Ovenella’s eclectic collection of exotic Italian cuisine. Mennan’s dedication to the restaurant and talented ability to develop unique, delicious recipes has served as a driving force in Ovenella’s success. Fernando approached him about becoming a partner in Ovenella to build upon the restaurant’s seasoned leadership.

Chef Mennan’s career spans more than 25 years, mastering a variety of roles in South Florida’s culinary industry, from Consultant to Corporate Chef. He’s worked with an impressive roster of Restaurateurs, such as Dennis Max, and Chefs, such as Mark Militello, at a multitude of upscale establishments from Miami to Tampa.
Raised in Turkey, Mennan relocated to the United States to attend college at Florida International University where he studied the Culinary Arts; earning with a degree in Hospitality Management. His cultured upbringing and seasoned experience as a Chef complements Ovenella’s Mediterranean influenced approach to gourmet Italian cuisine.
In 2011, Fernando appointed Mennan Executive Chef of Ovenella to develop its menu and direct the restaurant’s culinary strategy of serving a new take on traditional Italian plates. Fernando launched Ovenella to continue his family heritage of serving delicious Italian cuisine; bringing what he knows best to Boca Raton. Fernando comes from a long family tradition of entrepreneurism in the restaurant and hospitality industries that dates back three centuries to his family’s roots in the Venito region of Italy.
Ovenella is the eighth restaurant Fernando has owned and 28th business venture. Before residing in South Florida, he lived in Brazil where made a name for himself as a respected restaurateur, establishing such restaurants as “O Ponto,” “O Bar,” and “Totinho.” In addition, Fernando partnered with Fabrizio Fasano, proprietor of Fasano (www.fasano.com.br) - a highly regarded Italian restaurant in Sao Paulo – to form 3F, a catering company.

Ovenella is a full service Italian restaurant located at 499 South Federal Highway in Boca Raton, Florida. Developed by Executive Chef Mennan Tekeli, Ovenella’s menu features a gourmet assortment of traditional Italian plates with wide Mediterranean influences. Its recipes simplistically marry fresh herbs, vegetables and European cooking styles to provide unexpected, exotic flavors in every bite. The restaurant features a full liquor bar and serves lunch and dinner seven days a week.
