Lotus F1 Team demo in London kicks starts The Grand Prix Ball in 2012

The Lotus F1 Team will Launch this years Grand Prix Ball at the Hurlingham Club in style, with a live running F1 car to start the proceedings. 

The Grand Prix Ball, held in London on the Thursday prior to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone (5th July), will see the only live running car in London before the race.

Set in the grand surroundings of the Hurlingham’s 54 acres on the banks of the Thames, the Gala dinner will see the who's who of the F1 world attending. Last years’ red carpet saw guests such as British F1 World Champion Damon Hill, alongside many other celebrity names.

A rare showcase of F1 cars old and new will also delight the guests upon arrival at the venue. The Lotus F1 Team car will also play the national anthem on its engine before dinner.

Headlining the ball this year will be singer Sophie Ellis Bextor and F1 pundit and ex-F1 team boss Eddie Jordan who will take to the stage with his band. The evening is in aid of CLIC Sargent, a children’s cancer charity. 

Those who can’t make it on the night will get the chance to watch it live thanks to Sky Sports F1 new channel broadcasting from the Hurlingham Club from on the evening.

Last year 600 guests gathered at the Grand Prix Ball held at The Hurlingham club, London. The event was hugely successful in raising funds for CLIC Sargent. Patron and former F1 pundit Eddie Jordan was MC for the evening.
