06-11-2012 08:35 PM CET | IT, New Media & Software

Press release from: ESDS Software Solution Pvt. Ltd.

In the wake of recent predictions made by several investigators indicating that by the year 2012, the central Internet address version 4 (IPv4) would be completely obsolete, ESDS announced the successful implementation of IPv6 in their Tier 3 Data Center. ESDS is now offering IPv6 address to their customers for free. This will lead to full adoption by the customers network, in the region of the new version of IP protocol (IPv6).

"It is a fact that IP addresses based on the current protocol version (IPv4) will be history in a short time, and is estimated that currently less than 18% of IP version 4 is available," said Chief Network Administrator of ESDS, Mr. Anil Chandaliya. He also noted that businesses, governments and institutions should take the necessary measures to adopt version six of the Protocol as soon as possible.

"I do not want to cause unnecessary panic, however, the resources used by of IP version four addresses are fast declining. Therefore, we highly recommend gearing up for the use of regional networks to with Internet Protocol version six. There are still many aspects to be decided about the consumption of IPv4 addresses that are still remain unutilized. ESDS shall periodically inform the customers to be prepared, "added Anil.

He also indicated that according to the decision of the Executive Board of ESDS, this organization will begin a campaign of events and meetings in the region to promote the use of IPv6, which will add to the ongoing publication of information on this topic. The goal of this campaign is to ensure that India completes the IPv6 adoption process before the end of this year.

To promote the transition and adoption of the region's networks, resource allocation of IPv6 addresses by ESDS has no associated cost. Many strategic applications, such as those used by companies and government entities, must protect themselves from the consequences of running an obsolete technology, and take appropriate measures in time.
