$250,000 Donation Enhances ORU’s Computing & Mathematics Department

Tulsa, OK – Oral Roberts University has received a $250,000 donation from the Stanley White Foundation to create both scholarships for students and a new Stanley White i4 Digital Enterprise Lab (2890 sq. ft.) in the University’s Computing & Mathematics Department.

“The generosity and vision of the Stanley White Foundation and its Board Members to help us establish an HPC Lab last year and continue supporting our students and programs with a $250,000 donation this year is a little overwhelming.” said Dr. Andrew Lang, Senior Professor of Mathematics and Chair of ORU’s Computing & Mathematics Department. “The new lab and scholarships will provide an environment and resources for students to collaborate with faculty, and each other, in research and development activities to produce new technologies and other entrepreneurial opportunities – enhancing the already impactful Stanley White HPC lab.”

The Stanley White i4 (imagine, innovate, incubate, impact) Digital Enterprise Lab will be located on the first floor of ORU’s main Learning Resource Center building, synergistically nearby to the Stanley White High Performance Computing (HPC) Lab, with a ribbon cutting ceremony to be held this year once the lab is complete.

“We are very excited to honor Stanley White by supporting ORU’s Computing & Math programs through the addition of this pioneering space and provision of scholarships for their bright and creative students,” said Jim Beauchamp, Stanley White Foundation Board Member.

Stanley White, who passed away in 2002, established the foundation which has taken a leadership role in supporting higher education throughout Oklahoma.

ORU’s Computing & Mathematics Department has continued to see exponential enrollment growth from its recent implementation of in-demand, cutting-edge programs, as well as its recognized achievement in engaging students in high level research.
