Social Entrepreneur to share her Pandemic Journey
The event, which will also be joined by Hayley Wilkes, Owner of WeeCOOK and Kelly Fairweather, Founder of At Your Service Scotland as panel members, will be held virtually and invites people from across the region to hear from these inspiring female entrepreneurs as they share their experiences.
Caroline, an award-winning CEO, launched Social Good Connect, a non-profit, purpose-led digital employee-volunteering platform, 6 months early in May 2020 in response to the pandemic. Since launching the social enterprise, the team has connected over 125 organisations in the business and charity sectors.
Caroline spent 20 years in financial services then worked with various charities and start-ups, including as CEO of the Dundee International Women’s Centre. She started the early research phase for Social Good Connect in 2019.
Caroline said: "The upheaval of the last 12 months has taught me the value of simple humanity and wholeheartedness. The need for these two qualities reappears time and again for me as a leader nurturing a whole new team remotely, as a keen connector for social good through our employee volunteering platform, as a volunteer in the community myself and as a mother homeschooling while running a business from the same house. Isolation is a real threat for so many people in so many ways. Taking time to be kind and give back is one of the unsung answers to surviving the uncertainty of this pandemic."
DACC’s Leading Ladies series hears from inspiring female entrepreneurs from across the nation, learning more about their career and lessons learnt along the way. The series is open to all and not aimed solely at a female audience, the Leading Ladies can inspire the most senior of business people across the region.
Alison Henderson, CEO at DACC said: “Our Leading Ladies events are always a really interesting insight into how the business lives of these women can help us all learn interesting hints & tips for our own personal development. Their stories are inspiring and motivating, sometimes challenging but always thought provoking. The discussions that take place and the interactions with the audience help us all take some things away to help us be better colleagues and leaders. I’d encourage everyone to come along and listen to these women about their leadership journey and not be inspired!”
