Chef Louis DiBiccari Launches One-Of-A-Kind Cultural Event Marrying the Worlds of Visual and Culinary Arts at the Boston Center for Adult Education!

Boston, MA (May 8, 2012) – Boston-based Chef Louis DiBiccari, of Chef Louie Nights and Storyville, is partnering with local experience site Gilt City Boston and The Boston Center for Adult Education to bring to life a unique event aiming to unite and celebrate the worlds of culinary and visual arts with, CREATE: Six Artists, Six Chefs, One Canvas, taking place on Sunday, June 3, 2012, from 2pm to 6pm at the Boston Center for Adult Education.

Local rising artists such as !ND!V!DUALS, Josh Falk, and Emily Lombardo, will be paired with local up-and-coming culinary talent such as Jason Cheek of KO Prime, Suzi Maitland of Trina’s Starlite Lounge, Brandon Arms of Garden at the Cellar and Douglas Rodriguez of Clio (More to be announced).

Each chef will be challenged with creating a gastronomic offering inspired by an artist he or she is paired with.

“This concept has been kicking around in my head for years now. I’ve always wanted to try and do something inspirational and entertaining, bridging the gap between fine arts and culinary arts. The chef’s have to create a composition based on the subject matter of the artist. I think this is going be wild,” said Louis DiBiccari.

The event will also feature a piece of artwork being created on-site, to be auctioned off at the end of the event, as well as several works of art by each participating artist, available for purchase on-site.

Guests will also enjoy creations by up-and-coming mixologists Kevin Mabry of JM Curley, who will concoct cocktail’s using Tito’s Vodka, and Bruno Prado of Storyville. Other partners for the evening include 90+ Cellars, Taza Chocolate, Open Blue Cobia, Island Creek Oysters and Cakes by Erin.

A percentage of proceeds will benefit Lovin’ Spoonfuls, a 501c3, non-profit organization that facilitates the recovery and distribution of perishable and unserved foods that would otherwise be thrown away and wasted. We deliver this food directly to local crisis centers, soup kitchens and other social assistance entities. Lovin’ Spoonfuls was incorporated in 2010, and is committed to do its part to help eradicate hunger in Massachusetts.

Tickets are $75 and available for purchase exclusively through Gilt City Boston (www.giltcity.com/Boston).

About Chef Louie Night
Chef Louie Night was inspired by the same thing that inspires a lot of other ideas; a way to meet and impress girls. These "Iron Chef Nights" (as they were called back in the day) started as a gathering of friends in an apartment in Brookline making food, drinking (ir)responsibly, and having the time of their lives. Party guests would email in their votes for ingredients and Chef Louie would make a meal out of whatever got the most votes -- even if it was rum and coke, salmon, and blueberries. Before they knew it, they had a website and a small cult following and the parties started to grow. First out of the apartment and into nightclubs and bars around Boston, then into some of the cities finest restaurants and venues. The food has evolved from pasta on paper plates to high-end, multi-course dinners, but the themes and ingredients still remain a mystery to Chef Louie and his team until the morning of each event. Whether Louie is letting two "rising star" team members duke it out in the kitchen or Jerry Remy's to create a meal for 200 or whipping an intimate four-course, plated dinner for 60 at the Boston Center For Adult Education, Chef Louie Night is an event that shouldn't be missed by any restaurant lover.

About Louis DiBiccari
Louis DiBiccari is the consulting chef for Storyville and the founder of Chef Louie Night. A fixture in the Boston culinary scene for the past 16 years, DiBiccari earned his chops working at L'Espalier, Sage, and Sel de la Terre; all while throwing epic Iron Chef-style dinner parties on the side. As a chef he has been dedicated throughout his career to local farmers and nose to tail cooking. Community is key for DiBiccari, and when he's not cooking in a kitchen full of up-and-coming chefs at his own events, you can find him and his delicious creations at culinary happenings all around town.
