NOCs, Governments & IOCs Convene to Discuss Strategies for Growth

Held under the Patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, the CWC NOCs & Governments Summit will take place on 17-19 September 2012 in Dubai, UAE. The Summit will bring together senior representatives from governments of resource-holding nations and the energy industry to explore the opportunities for collaboration to ensure mutual benefit.

Thamir Ghadhban, Chairman of the Advisory Committee to the Prime Minister, Iraq; Dr Ibrahim Al-Muhanna, Advisor to the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Saudi Arabia; Sami Al-Rushaid, Chairman & Managing Director, Kuwait Oil Company; Hashim Al-Rifaai, Chairman, Kuwait Gulf Oil Company; Andrew Gould, Chairman (designate), BG Group; Aldo Flores-Quiroga, Secretary General, International Energy Forum; Manuel Ferreira De Oliveira, President, Galp Energia; Arnaud Breuillac, SVP Exploration and Production Middle East, Total; Hon Emmanuel A Kofi Buah, Deputy Minister of Energy, Ministry of Energy, Ghana; Eng Ernest Nwapa, Executive Secretary & CEO, Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Board; Dr Levi Ajuonuma, GGM Public Affairs Division, NNPC; Paul Groves, Managing Director, Petrofac Training; Mohamed S Al Harthy, Chief Executive Officer, Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL).

The Summit Director, Hannah Lawrence, remarks that the meeting “offers a platform for governments and industry to work together for the mutual benefit of foreign investors and resource-rich host nations. The early confirmed participation of key players from the likes of Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Nigeria, Kuwait, and Iraq is testament to the importance of these issues and the pressing need for dialogue to ensure enduring growth on both sides.”

The oil and gas industry leaders, governments and regulators will meet to discuss strategies to enhance in-country value through job creation and skills development; local content and capacity building; and innovation and technology transfer to foster growth and development within resource holding nations.
