Turkey Launched Its First Biogas Plant
Biogas plant project in Cicekdagi village, Turkey was carried out by a Swiss construction company “Zorg Biogas AG” few years prior to its launch. Plant’s official opening date was postponed until Turkish government adopts incentives necessary for the project’s success.Kyiv, Ukraine, April 30, 2012 -- Biogas plant project in Cicekdagi village, Turkey was carried out by a Swiss construction company “Zorg Biogas AG” few years prior to its launch. Plant’s official opening date was postponed until Turkish government adopts incentives necessary for the project’s success.
The date marks the beginning of biogas industry in Turkey – company’s project in Cicekdagi is the first functional biogas plant on the territory of Turkey.
Biogas plant will process 50 tons of cow and sheep manure daily to produce 3000 m3 of biogas. Biogas plant uses Jenbacher co-generation unit to convert biogas into electricity (249 kW) and heat (200 kW).
