Painted shoes by Annette Habicht

Painted shoes by Annette Habicht

Filigree, realistic portrait work is associated with the well-known painter Annette Habicht. She has received many awards and prizes for her work. The artist not only achieved fame far beyond the borders of her home country for her lavishly painted works, but also for her historic property in the state of Hesse. Different TV magazines already visited her beautiful country house to show it‘s beauty and what Annette Habicht was able to make of it.

The large property with its many cellars and vaults is a treasure trove for collectors of old historical objects. This summer, Annette Habicht discovered something very special in an antique wooden box. It was a sewing machine for shoes from the 18th century. None of her ancestors had ever been shoemakers. It was only used to repair the former very valuable leather shoes.

"When I saw this sewing machine, I immediately had an extraordinary idea", says the painter.
She drew a woman's face on a piece of canvas, cut this painting to match the shoe, and sewed it onto one of her shoes using her ancestors' sewing machine.

At this point in time she met up with artist friends in Nuremberg. At that meeting, she received great appreciation for her shoes, which was crucial in making more of them.

More and more models were now created by Annette Habicht. Her models became more and more unusual and extraordinary. Fashion-conscious women from all over the world now wear these unique shoes, which are becoming more and more popular. "It is not easy to make these special shoes. In order to paint the painting on the shoes so finely and in such detail, you have to work professionally. This is only possible as an experienced painter. Furthermore, the shoes must be suitable for everyday use and also survive rainy days, withoutfading of the hand-applied colors. All of this is a complex process. I am very happy that more and more women adorn themselves with these valuable shoes and thus receive a lot of admiration. "
