OnCell Tour Soon to be Live at Presby Memorial Iris Gardens

Essex County’s Presby Memorial Iris Gardens recently partnered with OnCell to provide interpretive content to their visitors through mobile technology. OnCell, offering mobile technology solutions to arts and cultural institutions since 2006, will power a cell phone tour for the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens so visitors can browse the living museum while learning about the historic gardens on their own mobile phones, at their own time and pace.

"We are very excited to be offering the OnCell tour this year and eagerly await feedback from our visitors. The tour will be live May 3 through June 3 and visitors may access it by dialing (973) 396-0990 or by scanning the QR codes on the signs around the gardens,” said Linda Sercus, Executive Director. “We will also provide a flyer with the full stop listing and QR code for the mobile tour website.”

The garden is open daily dawn to dusk and the Bloom Room Gift Shop and Walther House are open 10am-7pm during bloom season. The OnCell mobile tour is being offered by Presby Memorial Iris Gardens at no additional costs to guests (standard data and minute usage rates apply). Visitors are encouraged to leave comments on the cell phone tour about their experience.

About Essex County Presby Memorial Iris Gardens:

The Essex County Presby Memorial Iris Gardens is the largest public iris garden in the United States. Located at the base of Mountainside Park in Upper Montclair, the Gardens contain nearly 14,000 irises of around 3,000 varieties and produce over 100,000 blooms each May. It is a LIVING MUSEUM of botanical preservation with some varieties dating back to the 1500’s and is lovingly referred to by locals as the Rainbow on the Hill.
