MBAF's David Barbeito Hosts Rock Out For Autism Speaks
MIAMI - David Barbeito, CPA, CEPA, principal-in-charge of the Audit Department at nationally recognized public accounting firm Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, LLC (MBAF), recently hosted the Rock out for Autism Speaks: Miami, a fundraising event benefitting 2012 Walk Now for Austism Speaks. Barbeito, a leading member of MBAF's team for the walk, helped raise more than $5,000 for the charity."We are proud of David's accomplishments for the Autism Speaks organization, and his dedication is to be commended," said Tony Argiz, chairman and CEO of MBAF. "At MBAF, we hold value in the importance of giving back to the community, and we encourage our employees to pursue the charitable and volunteer opportunities they share a personal connection with."
Autism Speaks is the nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. Walk Now for Autism Speaks, the nation's largest grassroots autism walk program, is Autism Speaks' signature fundraising and awareness event, taking place in communities across the United States, as well as in Canada.
"Thanks to David's hard work and dedication, we have been able to advance our mission of autism science, awareness, advocacy and family services," said Lourdes Folgosa, executive director of the Miami chapter of Autism Speaks.
The annual Walk Now for Autism Speaks: Miami took place on March 4 at JC Bermudez Park in Doral, Fla. In total, the MBAF walk team raised more than $6,000 to benefit Autism Speaks.
