Exhilway to launch India’s first online private capital market solution next month

Exhilway, the India based leading wealth management consultant will launch India’s first online private capital market next month. This will be somewhat similar to United States based private exchanges like sharespost and secondmarket. This online platform will help India’s fastest growing companies to raise capital and build market capitalization without going for the initial public offering. The cost of raising funds on Exhilway’s private capital market will be one tenth of floating an IPO and it will provide a ready investor base which can contribute in success of start ups.

According to industry experts, such platforms will give a unique opportunity to investors and will give much needed liquidity to stocks of private companies.

Exhilway have tried to made their trading platform safe and secure by taking guarantee of listed companies data like promoter information, financials etc. Exhilway expects to have 200 businesses listed on exchange by the end of 2014 and a combined market capitalization of US $200 billion. This platform is open to both companies as well as partnership entities. For the first time partnership entities will have direct access to the capital by pledging its stake.

Exhilway will float US $100 million investor protection fund to safeguard investors from frauds and other mishappenings. Every stock auction on Exhilway will be underwritten.

“We are extremely choosy about companies, we need trustworthy companies on board. Private capital market can offer very high return to the investors, hence we are cautious about picking the best,” said Ashish Grover, Country Head of Exhilway.

Exhilway will launch its services on exhilway.com and will partner a stock broker to take care of its investors and the private companies. According to a company official who commented on the development on the basis of anonymity that Exhilway may partner SMC Global Securities, however nothing is confirmed yet.

SMC Global Securities and Exhilway have tried to explore some opportunities back in 2007 but failed to launch the proposed services. SMC Global Securities have grown tremendously and Exhilway may take advantage of its huge pan India network.

Exhilway private capital market will start by listing companies like CandyDate Jobs India (candydatejobs.com) and StyleAdda.com and will gradually add few others. Exhilway will list only 25 companies this year and expects to raise Rs 1700 crore on behalf of these companies.

Exhilway is the sixth largest financial company in the world that masters in the art of proprietary arbitrage which includes global equity and commodity markets. Exhilway employs over 9500 people worldwide as of 2011.
