New wave of technology investment activity assessed at TMT M&A Forum in London

Technology leaders and investors are meeting in London next week to discuss a new wave of transformational opportunities for telecom and tech companies as part of the TMT M&A Forum on March 14.
The inaugural forum, which connects leadership from the telecom, tech and finance community, features six panel discussions on M&A and investment strategy including: Technology M&A - Investing in the Next Wave; and Digital Leadership - Who Will Control The Customer Interface in the Fifth Wave of Computing?
“New technology is driving deals as telecom and internet companies vie for control of the customer interface through bolt on acquisitions and earlier stage investments,” said Philip Shepherd, technology sector leader in deal strategy at PwC who is chairing the Technology M&A Panel. “Large companies currently have significant cash reserves which they are looking to deploy through M&A and new areas such as smart mobility, Machine to Machine (M2M), cloud services, business intelligence and analytics look especially attractive.”
“The mobile internet is going to change more lives, create more wealth, destroy more businesses, and upend more political systems than any force in history,” saidRobert Marcus, Chairman and CEO of QuantumWave Capital who will lead the panel on the fifth wave of computing. “This session is designed to deliver practical guidance on navigating this time of great unpredictability and even greater opportunity.”
Featured speakers on the two technology sessions at the forum includeIntel Capital, Silicon Valley Bank, Saudi Telecom (STC), thePlatform, EBRD, Mediaset, KBC, TV App Agency, CE OnDemand and Joltech Capital.Additional themes for debate include: How are global TMT leaders innovating to meet consumer demand?
