Bucking current economic trends, Czech-based POS Media Europe has opened a new office in Munich as part of the company’s continued international expansion, making their point-of-sale advertising products and services available throughout Germany.

POS Media Germany is a joint venture with German supermarket advertising company, andré media. Founded in 1979 and with a presence in over 20,000 retail outlets across Germany, andré media is based in Regensburg and now has over 500 employees. The company has worked successfully with POS Media for the past two years across central Europe. Under the terms of the joint venture andré media will have a 25.1% interest in the new company and POS Media now has rights to andré media’s retail networks throughout Germany.

POS Media Germany will capitalise on this access to offer nationwide integrated in-store campaigns in the top German retailers. As the market leader in point-of-sale advertising in Europe, POS Media already works with leading retailers including REAL, METRO, Kaufland, Rewe and Adeka, and has built long-term successful relationships with the top 100 FMCG brands including P&G, Unilever, Nestlé, Coca Cola, Danone a.o. and Kraft.

The move into Germany means POS Media will be able to provide brand owners integrated advertising strategies across their territories including the Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, Slovakia, Hungary and Turkey.

As the economic downturn hits retailers, point-of-sale (POS) advertising becomes increasingly important as research shows that is where 70% of final purchase decisions are made. POS Media has been consistently proactive in developing and promoting POS as an effective advertising platform, with innovatory products and a comprehensive consultancy service.

‘This is part of a planned, strategic expansion to satisfy the demands of our retail partners and clients,’ states CEO and owner Richard van het Bolscher.

‘With over 12 years’ experience and expertise to call upon, we can integrate advertising campaigns across Germany as well as multiple European countries We are also planning to introduce new products and carriers to the German market.’

The establishment of the office in Munich will be followed by other satellite offices in strategic locations around Germany to ensure that full, nationwide service levels are available to all clients. A core start-up team has been recruited and is already in place.
