transport logistic 2007 - Bundesvereinigung Logistik identifies global solutions

Globalisation and the increasing demand for flexibility are presenting great challenges to the logistics industry. Germany´s biggest logistics organisation, the Bundesvereinigung Logistik (BVL), is taking up these themes in a series of trade forums at transport logistic 2007, the 11th International Trade Fair for Logistics, Telematics and Transport. These events, which take place between 12 and 15 June 2007 in Munich, will focus on logistics strategies and networks.

As a result of advancing globalisation in acquisition and sales operations, logistics competence is increasingly becoming a critical success factor in the global competition between companies. The Bundesvereinigung Logistik (BVL), an important partner of transport logistics, is taking a close look at these burning issues in logistics in a series of open forums:

Tuesday, 12.06., 13:30 to 15:00: ‘Logistics Excellence in Europe – Trends, Benchmarks and Innovations’. This event is being chaired by Prof. Dr. Hans-Christian Pfohl, head of the section on company management and logistics at the Technical University of Darmstadt. The focus of this forum is to find out what role is played by intelligent communication and management as a basis for successful interaction between companies in value-added networks.
Wednesday, 13.06., 13:30 to 15:00: ‘Optimal production supply – a logistics challenge’. This forum is chaired by Dr.-Ing. Hartmut Zadek, a partner of Visality Consulting GmbH, Berlin. The event looks at concepts to strengthen the clusters of industrial production. In addition it will be addressing the question of how jobs can be maintained in the various regions.
Thursday, 14.06., 13:30 to 15:00: ‘Global logistics networks’. This event is chaired by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Straube, Managing Director, Institute for Technology and Management and head of the logistics section at the Technical University of Berlin; Professor Straube will also be giving the keynote speech. The focus in this forum are the challenges for international management in logistics services and the approaches that can be used to successfully master them.
Friday, 15.06., 10:00 to 12:00: ‘Logistics location India – Focus on a new market’. This forum is being led by Poul V. Jensen, Managing Director of TransCare Logistics India Pvt. Ltd. in New Delhi. Current and future developments in the Indian logistics market are presented at this forum. In addition discussion will centre on points to observe when entering this market.

All these events take place in Forum 1 in Hall A4; simultaneous interpretation is provided in German and English. Visitors can find the stand of the BVL in Hall B4, stand no. 301. Here they can pick up extensive information on the work of the BVL, on current developments and on forthcoming events.

The 11th international trade fair for logistics, telematics and transport (12 to 15 June 2007 in Munich) presents the whole spectrum of the transport and logistics industry – telematics, in-company transport and material flow, logistics and freight transport. The fair aims to be a practical forum for information gathering and exchange in the diversely structured field of transporting freight – by road, rail, water and air. The visitor target groups of the fair are service-providers and decision-makers from the transport business, from industry, trade associations and freight logistics. In 2005 transport logistic attracted 1,333 exhibitors and around 40,000 visitors from a total of 103 countries. Over 1,500 exhibitors are expected to take part in transport logistic 2007.
