LOCAL MALIBU RESIDENT TENA FANNING WRITES FIRST CHILDREN’S BOOK

Malibu, CA (May 15, 2007)— What started as a humble and compassionate business venture turned into a successful series of children's books for publisher, Tena Fanning. Now, after publishing a self-help series for children under Playdate Kids Publishing, Fanning is set to release her first book as an author cleverly titled, "Booger Boogie.”

In the musical adventure, “Booger Boogie,” the kids take a jazzy trip through school encountering snotty noses, exploding sneezes and of course, dripping boogers. But the Playdate Kids know just what to do—and they share tissues with classmates and teachers alike in this smart yet silly story.

All of the Playdate Kids Publishing musical books include a CD, a simple dance routine and sheet music so children can do their own dances at home. The tunes are catchy and the lyrics promote hygiene, manners and self-worth. With these musical books, The Playdate Kids will help children appreciate their individuality, learn manners, increase their self-worth and have loads of fun along the way.

Fanning, an advocate for children’s mental and physical wellness, indicated that she is very proud of her new book series. "I truly hope it's a positive influence for young kids all over the globe. For parents, I hope the books help ease the difficulties of child rearing. The stories both give children a boost of self-confidence and manners while entertaining them musically," she said.

Fanning was inspired to publish children’s books after getting involved with various non-profit children’s organizations. “I wanted to do something in my life that would make a difference in children’s lives. I am an advocate of reading as early as possible. Literacy is a gift.”
