Rosa & Co. LLC, a drug development advisory firm with expertise in drug-disease modeling and simulation, today announced that its Dr. Toufigh Gordi, President of PKPD and Clinical Pharmacology Services, will present the results of an Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) microdosing study in infants at the 2nd Annual Pediatric Pharmacology Conference in Philadelphia, PA on January 26, 2012. Dr. Gordi will give a 30 minute scientific presentation entitled “Pediatric PK Modeling using AMS Data and PhysioPD™ Modeling of Ursodiol in a Neonate Clinical Trial”. The talk will describe the use of microdosing and AMS data for development of both pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamics and mechanistic physiological models, and how the resulting new insights can improve drug development practice in pediatric and other sensitive populations. The presentation will also highlight how incorporation of PK/PD data into a physiological model can provide deeper insight into mechanisms of patient variability. This work has been done in collaboration with Vitalea Science and Loma Linda University Children's Hospital.

“We are pleased to present the next step of our research into how microdosing, AMS data, and modeling can be combined to improve drug development for pediatrics. PhysioPD modeling allows greater insight into the data, revealing novel insights about patient variability, mechanisms of action, and the implications for pediatric clinical studies.” said Dr. Rebecca Baillie, Rosa’s Chief Scientist.

Rosa informs our customer’s most critical decisions – from preclinical through clinical development – with the creation and use of mathematical models that simulate disease physiology, drug action, patient variability, and trial outcomes. To address the full spectrum of related issues, Rosa offers two customized approaches: classic pharmacokinetic/ pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) models and Rosa’s innovative PhysioPD™ models. With these approaches, Rosa’s clients collaborate in model creation and testing, retain the final model, and acquire the ability to use it and understand its implications for their drug development programs. Rosa’s staff have unparalleled professional experience in using drug-disease modeling and simulation (M&S) to accelerate drug development and have completed hundreds of engagements with dozens of clients in multiple therapeutic areas. The Rosa team is unique in their breadth and depth of disease area experience, which includes metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, oncology, gastro-intestinal disease, inflammatory diseases, immune dysfunction (including rheumatoid arthritis), pain, skin conditions, respiratory disorders, and antibacterials/antivirals. More Releases for AMS

AMS 4516 – the smallest wireless differential pressure sensor
AMSYS GmbH & Co. KG now presents an extremely compact differential pressure transmitter with Bluetooth transmission of measurement data. This sensor is suitable for differential pressure measurement and filter monitoring in situations where wired retrofitting would be difficult. The new pressure transmitter enables measurement data to be read out by a number of different devices – also in places that are difficult to access or where mobile data retrieval is
New Meteorological Sensor Technologies at AMS 2020
Internet-of-Things innovation will be seeping into the forefront of AMS 2020 in Boston, MA this winter with the introduction of MeteoHelix® IoT micro-weather stations capable of meeting strict measurement guidelines of the NWS and WMO for long-term global warming observations. While Europe has already adapted the first wave of low cost IoT meteorological sensors and weather stations with mixed results, the lessons learned can benefit the adoption of these
Miniaturized Pressure Transmitters in Plastic Housing - AMS 4710
AMSYS GmbH & Co. KG, January 2019. Most people think of pressure transmitters (ready-to-use pressure sensors) as bulky steel-housed sensors. AMSYS shows new ways with its analog pressure transmitters in LEGO-size. These miniaturized transmitters combine excellent performance features with all types of pressure and can be used in several fields of application. Technical data The AMS 471X pressure sensors are linearized industrial transmitters, calibrated and compensated in the industrial temperature range of
