White Plains Hospital Prepares to Launch “New Year, New You” Lecture Series
White Plains Hospital plans a series of programs in January to help people make positive changes to improve their health and wellness in the New Year. The Hospital’s “New Year, New You” series begins on Tuesday, January 10th with the program, “Is Weight Loss Surgery Right for You?”Physicians Dr. Philip Weber, Denise Addorisio, RD and Sandy Gallo, RN will provide information to help attendees determine if bariatric surgery is an appropriate option. The panel will discuss pre-surgical education, nutritional and psychological counseling, surgery options, postoperative care and physical therapy. The presentation will take place from 7:00 to 8:00 pm in the Hospital’s Medical Library.
The series continues on Thursday, January 19th from 5:30-6:30pm in the Medical Library with “Licking the Sugar Habit” from certified diabetes educator and Director of the Hospital’s Diabetes Education and Treatment Center, Ann Rupp, R.N.
The remaining programs are as follows:
Wednesday, January 25th: 6:00-8:00pm in the Auditorium
“Smoking Cessation and Weight Loss Workshop”
Pre-registration for this popular workshop is required by January 14th by calling 800-342-1303 or emailing stugreen2@yahoo.com. There is a fee of $75.00 to attend. Participants should feel free to bring their own snacks, and complimentary beverages will be served.

UK House Prices Drop in January
House prices dropped by 0.2 per cent in January according to Nationwide’s latest house price index.
The average house price is £162,228 and the decrease in property prices follows the second monthly fall in a row after a 0.2% fall was recorded in December 2011. However house prices remain 0.6% higher than they did a year ago.
