Vivid Racing Makes 35 Entrepreneurs Under 35 List in Phoenix Area
The Arizona Republic and azcentral.com solicited entrepreneurs age 35 and under to apply to be chosen for their list of 35 small businesses in that age category. Out of 100 applicants, Vivid Racing was chosen as one of them.Since 2001, Vivid Racing has been a major competitor in the performance automotive industry. Rob Rohn and Dan Mermelstein started with nothing in hand, and like 95% of the entrepreneurs in the under 35 list, they financed their business with some type of small loan. In their case it was $1,500 from their parents. Rob and Dan have made Vivid Racing into a multi-million dollar company and one of the most successful and recognized brands in the aftermarket arena.
They have been featured in almost every magazine about their business, as well as the cars they have built. Rob and Dan have competed in 3 Gumball 3000 events, Bullrun Rally, and were featured on ESPN2's "Import Racer" TV show. Vivid Racing has also built several demo cars including some for Pepsi/Mazda and Cusco/Subaru.
Making the 35 Entrepreneurs Under 35 list is a fitting way to celebrate Vivid Racing's ten-year anniversary.
Going from a small rental office that they shared to a 15,000 square foot building that they own in Gilbert, Arizona in just ten years gives the two much to be proud of. The number of employees has grown to thirty, and the shop in back is always full of cars. On the walls of the hallways are large, framed posters of the many automobiles that have gone through the Vivid Racing transitions, attesting to the success of the company.

Formalities featuring Dan Grayber + Steuart Pittman
Johansson Projects presents Formalities, a two-person exhibition featuring works by Dan Grayber and Steuart Pittman, in which familiar structures and seemingly rigorous forms are born from aesthetic impulse and a higher ambition towards geometric harmony.
If machines are inventions that ease the daily burdens of human existence, Dan Grayber's work is the very antithesis of the statement. Grayber creates intricate mechanical objects that are designed solely to sustain themselves, rather…
