Girl's first song Dark Eyes highlights "We're more alike than we are different" and benefits two COVID-19 relief funds
Westfield, IN - Thirteen-year-old Keegan Connor felt self-conscious about her dark eyes ever since she was little. So she set out to write her 1st song, Dark Eyes.
Keegan says, "As I continued with the lyrics, the song became more for all people with dark eyes. No matter how we appear to others, we're more alike than we are different. Dark Eyes is a symbol of our light inside and for equality."
During this coronavirus pandemic, we're #INthisTogether and Keegan's hope is that her song may offer encouragement to those who are different on the outside and to see beyond the color of one's eyes. Keegan says, "Eyes are one of the first things you notice about someone, but there's more to people than what comes to the eye."
Keegan planned to release Dark Eyes last fall, but she unexpectedly was diagnosed with severe scoliosis and underwent VBT spine surgery at Mount Sinai hospital in New York. Upon recovery and due to the quarantine, she's having a virtual song release.
Pre-orders began Sunday, May 10th on iTunes with an official release Saturday, May 16th at 2 pm on Spotify, iTunes, iHeartRadio, Tik-Tok, Pandora, and 30 other streaming online platforms. She'll also be releasing her music video, which was shot in Carmel.
In light of our new normal, this young singer and aspiring Broadway performer wants to help those affected by COVID 19 and is designating her first week's preorder sales through May 15th to benefit the United Way of Central Indiana Covid-19 Fund as well as the Actor's Fund COVID-19 Emergency Relief.
