huenersdorff launches new PE fuel and water can

Ludwigsburg, 04 December 2011 – After a lengthy period of developing and testing the new product, Ludwigsburg-based huenersdorff GmbH has fielded two new types of plas-tic fuel cans. The jerry cans bear the product name “Profi” and are available as 10 and 20 litre cans (product codes 801000 and 802000). They meet all the requirements as stipulat-ed by the Regulation on the International Carriage of Dangerous goods by Road, Rail and Inland Waterway Transportation. Hence, the “Profi” cans also bear the relevant United Nations seal of approval. Huenersdorff has also launched the “Profi” can as a 10 and 20 litre water canister version (product ID 816500 and 816700). Both canister types are stackable for space-saving storage.

„The development of products in the plastics manufacturing sector is a tedious proce-dure”, says huenersdorff’s CEO Dr Robin Mattheis. “This is especially true for products which have to meet a high level of safety requirements, such as fuel cans. Made of high-density polyethylene (HD-PE), the “Profi” canisters are extremely robust and resistant against exterior forces. Needless to say, the jerry cans are also certified by the German Technical Inspection Authority (TÜV) and suited for the transport of the new organic E10 type fuel. A special fixture on the canister’s body for an integrated dis-charge pipe which fits any standard petrol tank opening is as much part of the serial production as is a certified safety lock for children. It is worth mentioning that the dis-charge provided with every jerry can is suited for the modern protection systems against misfuelling provided by the car manufacturers. It goes without saying, any driver of a diesel-propelled vehicle equipped with the misfuelling protection device will be happy to know that huenersdorff now also provides a discharge pipe especially suited for diesel misfuelling protection systems. Moreover, a drain tap with a filler cap can also be ordered for the canister. Thanks to its standard dimension, both the 10 as well as the 20 litre “Profi” can fit any customary canister holder.

Clients ordering batches of 5,000 or more units are offered an additional service by huenersdorff: The manufacturer offers to brand the jerry cans with the client’s colour, embossment and/or labeling of choice.

The 10 and 20 litre „Profi“ water canisters come in a naturally translucent finish and are also made of HD-PE. A UV protection guarantees a high lifespan. The large opening allows for an easy cleaning of the can’s interior and for filling or discharging larger quantities of liquid. Both types of canister come with a drain cock with which smaller quantities of water can be dosed. After use, the tap can be safely clipped into the canister’s body, allowing for a fuss-free stacking of containers. A blue discharge pipe fitting the can be additionally ordered.
