To study in a university abroad, students are required to write essays that are extremely important during the initial application process. Suggestions regarding missing elements from the essay such as mentors/professors the student would be interested to work in, any research publications they didn't mention, are also provided. Updated in 2019, the tool uses Natural Language Processing, which in simple terms means the natural language used by humans understood through software. Human language is ambiguous with very few rules, so this process is developed keeping that in mind. To build the software, GyanDhan used some sample SOPs willingly contributed by the students to develop a frame against which SOPs are now reviewed. During the initial phase of the testing, GyanDhan saw an 80% accuracy rate. There are chances that some inaccuracy may creep in while reviewing. But the benefits of this tool surpass whatever inconsistencies there may be in the software.
Keeping the inconsistencies in mind, GyanDhan provides a manual SOP review as well. Students can avail the service for a minimal charge and get their SOP reviewed by an expert.
