Rev Carl Keyes Aid for America Builds Safe Houses

AID for America, a division of AID for the World, is pleased to announce that it is in the final stages of assisting with the building of a safe house for women who have been rescued from forced prostitution. The home is being built on 100 acres in Pennsylvania, and will provide a safe haven for eight women.

The project was founded based on the need for a safe house providing emergency assessment, counseling and appropriate treatment referrals in a safe and nurturing environment. The girls will stay as long as they need so as to provide an opportunity for them to learn what they need and institute an intensive plan for re-entering society in a safe and productive way.

“This program is extremely important and directly affects the lives of women who require a safe place to seek refuge,” says Rev. Carl Keyes, founder of AID for America. “Without a safe haven, many of the girls will be forced back on the streets and into dangerous, life-threatening situations.”

The homes are built with the help of monetary donations, volunteer labor and assistance from local vendors and builders. “These important projects, that save people’s lives, demonstrate how we can all come together to make a difference in the world,” says Rev. Keyes.
