Munich, November 15th, 2011 - The Nunatak Group, a Munich-headquartered strategic consulting group focused on digital industries, has successfully completed its market entry. Already, the management team has acquired several prominent clients based on the strength of numerous successfully completed projects in the publishing and media industries.

“We recognize that the transformation through digitalization is only in its beginnings”, said Maks Giordano, 38, managing director and co-founder, on the occasion of the official launch of the company (www.nunatak.com). “So much experimentation and so many strategic paths are emerging in technology now, especially in the fields of mobile and social media,” spoke Maks. The pioneer in mobile media has extensive experience in several leadership positions in the digital media field. He added, “The same is true for opportunities to invest in digital business lines.” It is this and similar questions, which the “Nunataks” – Inuit for “signpost”, referring to readily identifiable mountains – are looking to answer together with their clients.

Robert Jacobi, 34, another founding member of the team, is a Harvard graduate and spent five years as a management consultant for the media industry, including a senior position with Solon Management Consulting. Previous to that, Robert had a notable career as a journalist with Süddeutsche Zeitung, among others. Fellow co-founder Rupert Schäfer, 34, has an entrepreneurial background in the media and venture capital industries, providing a rare combination of expertise in both fields. Among his many accomplishments, Rupert was the long-time producer of the internationally acclaimed DLD Conference, as well as spending seven years at Hubert Burda Media, where he worked in the investment division of the German media giant. The Nunatak founding team is rounded out by Gowrynath Sivaganeshamoorthy, 33, who adds his extensive technical prowess. Gowry studied computer science and psychology, and previously worked as Head of Development with Viva and managed projects for Condé Nast Digital and ProSiebenSat1.

The “Nunataks” specialize in providing a comprehensive package for their clients, beyond simply providing theory and concepts. They offer to see projects through and accompany their clients as interim managers during the implementation phase, which adds significant value to each project. For the development of digital media products, Nunatak cooperates with an established network of product managers, designers and software engineers. As a result, the consultancy is able to offer a full spectrum of services in the media and technology sectors. The four founders are also active investors and share their knowledge and experience with web-based startups in order to help them succeed. Finally, they help established companies in their search for suitable investments.

The Nunatak Group’s inaugural clients include Condé Nast Digital Germany, Burda Yukom Publishing and ADAC, the German automobile club. Established book publishers and renowned consumer brands that are searching for new communication channels are also seeking the consultancy’s advice.
