Key industry players will join the South-East European Forum which will be held in the period 28-30 March 2012 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The event's aim is to encourage the know-how transfer and business cooperation and to outline investment opportunities in the region of South-East Europe.

The Forum incorporates: Congress and Exhibition on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, SEE Solar Exhibition and Conference and Exhibition on Waste Management, Recycling and Environment ‘Save the Planet’.

A special accent will be put on the biomass resources and bioenergy as they are a market niche with a great potential in South-East Europe. The latest developments in this sector will be presented by high-level speakers from the German Biomass Research Centre, Thuringian State Institute for Agriculture, German Biomass Research Centre and Imperial College London. Andrea Haas from the German Society for Sustainable Bioenergy and Biogas Utilisation will deliver a speech on the biogas and its economic and environmental benefits. The attention of the attendees will be drawn to the gaps in municipal solid waste management and to one of the possible solution approaches - the ‘Bioreactor landfills’. The other interesting session will be ‘Waste Prevention’, organized in collaboration with the Association of Cities and Regions for Recycling and sustainable Resource management (ACR+). The Association experts will share good European practices and initiatives in the field of bio-waste prevention.

Leading companies will display pellet boilers, machines and plants for the production of bio fuels with high caloric values. The exhibition scope includes also solar, wind- and hydro energy, e-mobility, energy efficiency, waste management, recycling and waste-to-energy.

The organizer Via Expo expects the event to attract over 7000 visitors on a global scale.
