Innovative U.S. art director comes up with novel approach to promote new book
Washington, DC, May 4, 2007—When the first shipment of Andy Hines’ new book, Thinking about the Future, rolled into Social Technologies headquarters in Washington, DC, creative director Daniel Klein was inspired.“We were anticipating the arrival of the book for months, and as soon as I saw the finished product it dawned on me that we needed to create something to celebrate it being published—something that we could give away to all of our customers,” Klein said.
He immediately knew what to do. Klein asked fellow Social Technologies’ designer and illustrator Sait Yilmaz to create artwork for a series of Cityscape bookmarks to highlight each of the cities where Social Technologies has a presence. “Our global expansion seemed like the perfect hook for the project,” Klein said.
