New Juvenile Products Lab opened by SGS in Aix En Provence, France

The new facility in France is expected to cater for a wide spectrum of testing requirements within the juvenile products industry, with testing services available so that manufacturers, retailers and importers can meet the quality standards required for trade within the EU. The new SGS laboratory will be able to test high chairs, beds, cradles, playpens and changing tables as per the standards set by EN 14988, EN 716, EN 1130, EN 12227, EN 12221, EN 71-2 & 3 – i.e. for mandatory standards that test for stability, mechanical and physical strength as well as testing small parts, flammability, chemicals, and associated label checking and so on.

SGS France achieved COFRAC accreditation (http://www.cofrac.fr/) for toys and food contact materials a while back, enabling its testing services to cover articles such as baby bottles, soothers and other feeding equipment. SGS is proud of its record in the testing of toys, furniture, and other articles and materials given to contact with food, and is certain to provide a competitive advantage to its clients in the development of juvenile products for sale within the EU.
