CopperCube 3.0 released
Vienna, Austria - Oct 05 2011 - CopperCube, the editor for creating 3D applications and games in Flash and WebGL but also as Windows and Mac applications has been released today in version 3.0: http://www.ambiera.com/coppercube/index.htmlAdobe just released their Flash Player 11 yesterday, with real, hardware accelerated 3D capabilities, named Stage3D. CopperCube 3 now gives the possibility to use this new feature without the need to write any code in any programming language. You can create games, 3D model viewers, architectural visualizations and product configurators for Adobes Flash Stage 3D using CopperCube without programming. There are 6 new demos on the CopperCube website, showing this: http://www.ambiera.com/coppercube/flashdemos.html
Since CopperCube also supports WebGL as target, one can also compare both technologies, WebGL and Flash/Stage3D with CopperCube. Most demos on the website are available for both targets, WebGL and Flash. From a technical view, it is possible can create the same content with both technologies, although the code execution in Flash currently is a bit faster than that of the fastest JavaScript VM in any Browser (be it Google Chrome or Firefox).
This new release of CopperCube also adds a lot of other new features, such as dynamic lights for all targets, the possibility to create plugins for the editor using JavaScript, audio for the WebGL target, double sided materials, new actions and improved behaviors, JavaScript as scripting language for the Mac OS X .app and Windows .exe target, polygon editing tools in the editor, a better third person camera for indoor scenes, improved file importers, better WebGL performance, and much more.
Coppercube consists of an easy to use 3D editor which imports 23 different 3D file formats and is able to create interactive 3D .swf and .html files with physics, lighting and more, and an 3D engine which is optimized for the specific selected publishing target. No programming knowledge is necessary for CopperCube. The editor includes a simple Event/Action system with which it is possible to 'script' complex processes, if necessary (for example opening up a website, playing a sound, hiding an object). With one single click, it's then possible to create Flash .swf, Windows .exe or JavaScript/WebGL .html files from every interactive 3D scene, which has been created in the CopperCube editor.
CopperCube is free to test for 14 days.
