Press release from: Appnovation Technologies

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (September 27, 2011) – Appnovation Technologies is pleased to announce that they have become a member of the Open Virtualization Alliance (OVA). The move to join OVA correlates strongly with the company’s dedication to providing open source products to its clientele.

Formed in May of this year, the OVA is a consortium committed to fostering the adoption of open virtualization technologies, including Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM). Founded by technology leaders like BMC Software, HP, IBM, Intel, Red Hat, Inc. and SUSE, the goal of the alliance is to provide education, best practices and technical advice to help businesses understand and evaluate their virtualization options, including open source alternatives such as KVM.

“We are very pleased to welcome Appnovation into the Open Virtualization Alliance (OVA),” said Scott Crenshaw, vice president and general manager, Cloud Business Unit at Red Hat and a founding member of the Open Virtualization Alliance. “The support for the Open Virtualization Alliance from industry leaders and innovators shows the widespread interest in KVM as an open virtualization alternative. KVM delivers leading performance, scalability and security, making it a compelling alternative to proprietary virtualization technologies.”

Appnovation Technologies’ current service array includes open source technologies Drupal, Alfresco and SproutCore. Earlier this year they announced their partnership with Eucalyptus Systems, a founding member of OVA, to add cloud implementation to their services arsenal.

“Becoming a member of OVA was a natural move for us,” says Appnovation CEO Arnold Leung. “We’re committed to providing the best possible open source solutions to our customers and that’s one of the main pillars OVA is built on.”
