PHOENIX, ARIZONA - Retrofoam of Arizona recently won the 2011 Top Gun Award at the annual "Foam in the Smokies" conference.
The conference was held for all contractors who use Polymaster’s foam products. Polymaster Inc., based in Knoxville, Tennessee, .manufacturers Retrofoam and other foam insulation products.

Steve Sayers, CEO of Polymaster, expressed satisfaction with the way Retrofoam of Arizona has represented the company and its products since it began over a year ago. "I have received great feedback from Retrofoamers around the country who said they are implementing business practices they learned from Paul, Patrick and their team," Sayers said. The national award is divided in three categories: Customer satisfaction, volume of foam installed, and willingness to assist other Polymaster franchisees around the country with their businesses.

"Retrofoam of Arizona maintained 100 percent customer satisfaction based on Polymaster's customer surveys," said Paul Kariniemi, co-founder of the Phoenix sound proofing company ( Although Retrofoam of Arizona excludes attic insulation (, the product did well for having the strongest first year growth trajectory of any franchisee in recent history for Polymaster.

"The fact that this was accomplished in the Phoenix market, which has experienced a significant real estate downturn, speaks loudly to the hard work of the Retrofoam of Arizona team," said Kariniemi of the foam insulation. Prescott homeowners ( and homeowners throughout the state have installed this insulation.

He said he will revisit the idea of partnering with insulation contractors ( but wants Retrofoam of Arizona to assist other Retrofoam franchisees around the country. "We've spent many late night hours on the phone sharing tips and other ideas with new franchisees," says Kariniemi, who started the company with his brother, Patrick.

"Our success is simple, we work hard and treat everyone the way we would like to be treated," Kariniemi said. "Homeowners in Arizona appreciate that we go the extra mile for them and our employees appreciate the respect they receive for their hard work."
