Create rich, engaging interfaces using jQuery UI User Interface Library with Packt's new book
jQuery UI provides abstractions for low-level interaction and animation, advanced effects and high-level, themeable widgets, built on top of the jQuery JavaScript Library, that one can use to build highly interactive web applications. jQuery UI 1.8 adds position, button, autocomplete, new widget factory, lighter core.
jQuery UI 1.8: The User Interface Library for jQuery book starts off by introducing readers to jQuery UI, then shows how the CSS framework consistently themes the widgets and how these styles can be used in their own code. Readers will be able to create a custom jQuery UI widget using the widget library. Throughout the book they will learn how each component can be initialized in a basic default implementation and then customize and configure each component to tailor it to their application.
While reading the book, developers will understand how to configure the different components, and know the different options that each component uses. Firing of custom events and how these events can be intercepted and acted on to create highly interactive, responsive user interfaces is also described in every chapter.
With plenty of examples, this book is ideal for front-end designers and developers who need to quickly learn how to use jQuery UI. To get most out of the book, readers are expected to have good working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and should ideally be comfortable using jQuery.
