BITS Pilani 1980 Batch Grand Alumni Ruby Reunion at Goa

With Passion Quotient for alma mater peaking, for each one of them, Pilani is just not a destination where one arrives but rather the spirit with which one undertakes and continues the journey. From the 1980 batch52 batchmates and 26 spouses from different continents celebrated their Ruby Union at Longuinhos Beach , SPA and resorts , Colva , Goa during 15 - 17 Jan 2020 just before Goa BITSAA Global Meet BGM2020 to mark their togetherness for 40 years from their year of admissions to BITS Pilani which in India today is an Institution of Eminence.

BITSians have time and again proved that they do not shirk from putting their best foot forward to march out boldly and seize the opportunities to face the challenges head on. The alumni gathering indeed looked like a stellar constellation of Chairmen, Managing Directors, COOs, CEOs, CTOs, CIOs, Scientists, Presidents and Vice Presidents, Techies, Entrepreneurs, Media Moguls, Realtors, Academicians, Vice Chancellors, Professors as well as Consultants. Author of Best seller Penguin Book Tata Log and The Curious Marketer, Chairman of Tata Coffee Titan Harish Bhat presently the Brand Custodian at Tata Sons is also from this batch of BITS Pilani.

Rashmi Datt who is one of India's top EQ facilitators and coaches who accompanies people on their soul's journey to fully harness their purpose and passion is from this batch of BITS Pilani.Each one of them undoubtedly had been a dreamer, performer, achiever and a leader in applying knowledge and skills to improve lives across society. Irrespective of whatever degree they did at Pilani, wherever they came from and whatever their life journey had taken them to, there was one thing they all shared in common and that was passion for the alma mater.

Each one of them agreed that their stay at Pilani had left an indelible mark on their lives. This batch like the other batches have indeed enhanced the reputation and raised the profile of BITS Pilani both nationally and internationally through their successes, contributions and support. Opening day was a fun filled Reunion beginning with intro session over high tea followed by a musical evening with karaoke from fellow batchmates and dance by enthusiasts. The next day first half was spent with fun at beach and second half with mentoring and interactive session with BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa campus students.

The batch had a gala time at Goa fame paradise cruise upto 10pm. The reunion apart from fun and frolic included book launches and felicitations to Satish Goel for Kashish - A book on romantic poetry and Shayari for all ages and Bichitra Behura - mystic of love. Star of the Reunion was Satish Goel and Jewel of Reunion Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra , Director HR IOCL. Most charming couple award was bagged by Ranjan and Nivedita Mohapatra while award for Most musical couple went to Sanjay and Baani Srivastava.

Most dashing couple to Kailash and Mamta Gupta and NRI charming couple Ajay and Shruti Dholakiya. This reunion would not have been possible but for the untiring efforts of Satish Goel , Vikas , Praveen Bali , Praveen Saxena , Bhupesh and Mukul Khare. 17 Jan 2020 being the last day, everybody became sentimental with hugs and selfies all over and they took a vow to add altitude to the Alma mater and to make the Golden Reunion grander than the grandest.
