Innovative Insurance Programme Offered For School iPads

1st September 2011 – London – Burnett & Associates, the well-known insurance specialists for the educational market and part of the Citymain Group, have introduced an innovative new insurance policy for iPads and other tablet PCs. As their day-to-day use in everyday classroom settings becomes increasingly popular, this new insurance solution is ideal for both students and schools alike.

Thanks to their easy portability, iPads and other tablet PCs can be easily transported, passed around the classroom, and given their flexibility, can easily be connected to projectors and various other pieces of equipment. However, this means they can also be easily damaged, lost or stolen.

Burnett & Associates have developed a new, dedicated iPad and Tablet insurance policy programme that covers the pupil in both the classroom and at home, as well as in transit between the two. The solution includes coverage for up to five years that protects the device against theft, accidental damage, mechanical breakdown and product failure once the manufacturer’s warranty has expired. Most importantly, this programme provides protection for schools, as these devices are not usually covered by a school’s insurance policy. Finally, Burnett’s employs a direct settlement of claims policy, meaning there is no negative impact on a school’s cash flow.
