Air Conditioning Is A Winner All Year Round
A huge misconception on the part of many consumers in the UK is that air conditioning is a device which gives relief only from the heat of the summer. This misconception probably comes from the fact that air conditioning is not the ‘norm’ is most British homes and therefore not a lot is known about the workings of these systems.Air conditioning units can also provide a warmer environment during the long cold winter days, due to heat pump technology which is very flexible, it simply means that the system can be run in reverse, an overview for the layman is, when the system is run in heating mode, the refrigerant flows the opposite way absorbing free heat from the outdoor unit and transfers it to the indoor unit where it is dispersed into the room.
Heat pump technology is already well known in the air conditioning market, and is integral to any plan to reduce harmful gasses into the atmosphere. This is possible by transferring heat energy form one environment to another, and in cooling mode, air conditioning works by using a refrigerant gas in an enclosed system.
The summer sun can make everyone uncomfortably hot and to add to this discomfort poorly ventilated spaces can turn nice weather into a nightmare but the installation of air conditioning can help cool down stuffy workplaces, and households.
Many business owners have been put under pressure to satisfy the ever increasing health and safety rules, in terms of business premises which should be kept within the required temperatures to maximize work output.
In the workplace the health, Safety and Welfare Regulations of 1992 does require employers to ensure that a comfortable temperature is maintained, thus air conditioning units are being installed more and more frequently, and in turn the units are becoming more affordable to both the home owner and businesses around the UK.
A little expenditure in the fast growing market of air conditioning could prove to be a profitable investment for the consumer, improving efficiency and productivity in the workplace, and become a best friend in the home environment.
The air conditioning industry has never been huge in the UK in comparison with warmer countries in the world, but the much talked about subject of global warming seems to have completely transformed the market for a need to install an air conditioner in homes around the UK.
A spokesman for Climachill a family owned and run business specializing in air conditioning said, “we install air conditioning systems throughout Sussex, and we can confirm that it is now becoming more common to install air conditioning into domestic environments, we have installed many wall split systems into bedrooms, conservatories, kitchens, lounges and dining rooms, now is the time to install a system, a ‘heat pump’ system can be used for heating and cooling, and due to the energy efficiency of the systems the Government allows us to charge domestic customers only 5% vat, and as all our systems are ‘heat pump’ technology thus all our customers will only pay 5% vat.”.
The right company for installation, the right unit, will make it an all round winner.

Maximizing air conditioning efficiency is key to minimize its financial and environmental costs. Historically air conditioning has been unpopular in Europe simply because of the moderate climate and running costs, having said that, it is now becoming much more common across Europe and the UK.
An air conditioner that does not work at its maximum efficiency levels can seriously effect the electricity consumption, it may be working fine with absolutely…
Air Conditioning Named As One Of The Ten Greatest Mechanical Engineering Achieve …
Technology moves at breakneck speed, and brings innovation to many products on the market today, and none more than air conditioning, in fact according to a survey in 2000, air conditioning/refrigeration was named among the ten greatest mechanical engineering achievements of the 20th century.
Air conditioning has a long history and in fact has roots in second century China, where the inventor Ding Huane crafted a manually powered rotary fan. …
Changing Climates Results In Greater Use Of Air Conditioning
Our climate is changing and as the environment becomes tougher, the use of air conditioners has become very popular in many modern homes.
These days energy efficient materials are in the news frequently, and today if you want to sell your home you need an energy efficient survey done, and it is a service that ranks homes for sale by their energy rating and runs hand in hand with the usual…
Know The Energy Consumption Of Your Air Conditioning
If you are considering purchasing air conditioning you should assess the energy consumption of the system. Energy labeling is seen on consumer goods like washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers, and of course the same applies to air conditioning units.
Air conditioning units have an electrical efficiency rating or EER in cooling and a co-efficiency of performance CoP in heating, and a typical standard on average of 3.5 EER and…

What Is Acceptable In Terms Of Indoor Air Quality
Indoor air quality has been the subject of many debates for several years, mostly about the proper definition of indoor air quality and what constitutes ‘acceptable’ indoor air quality.
In the UK, classrooms are required to have 2.5 outdoor air changes per hour. In gyms, dining and other spaces the ventilation should be sufficient to limit carbon dioxide to 1,5000ppm, but in the USA ventilation in classrooms is based on…
