Consider throwing Christmas parties at home, Gloucester bouncy castle hire team advises
Summary: Following reports that Gloucestershire Constabulary has launched a drink and drug driving campaign, King of the Castles Gloucester has suggested avoiding the roads and throwing Christmas parties at home instead.Body: It’s safest to stay off the roads and throw Christmas parties at home, a Gloucester bouncy castle hire company has said, following the start of Gloucestershire Constabulary’s holiday drink and drug driving campaign.
The campaign, which is backed by Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service and the South West Ambulance Service, was launched on December 3rd and concludes on January 1st. It will see officers using roadside breath tests and swabs to identify and prosecute motorists under the influence of substances including alcohol, cocaine and cannabis.
Speaking for Gloucester bouncy castle and soft play hire company King of the Castles Gloucester, Kevin Burke said:
“The roads are dangerous enough during snowy and icy weather, and even worse if you add drink and drug driving into the mix.
“Holiday traffic, poor weather and incapacitated drivers could make staying at home the safer option – and there are plenty of holiday games and ideas you can hire to keep the family entertained during the winter months.
“Although we’ve got Christmas bouncy castles and inflatables for hire throughout Gloucestershire, you might also be interested in doing some festive baking, some crafts, or mull your own wine!
“If you’re sure you want to go out – perhaps to go to Christmas markets, see friends and relatives, or listen to your boss DJing at your office Christmas party – consider taking public transport.”
King of the Castles Gloucester has inflatable deliveries scheduled throughout the holiday period, so its van drivers can take the risk rather than its customers.
Every year, around 3,000 people die in incidents relating to drink-driving.
