GRAPA Announces Revenue Assurance Professional Advocacy Committee

Advocacy Committee to play transformative role in the prestige and perception of revenue assurance within telecoms.

As the culmination of a 5 year plan for the fundamental transformation and rejuvenation of the revenue assurance profession, GRAPA (the Global Revenue Assurance Professional Association) announced the creation of a Revenue Assurance Professional Advocacy Committee’s (RAPAC).

This advocacy committee is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the professional reputation of the exceptional individuals who perform an essential function within modern telecommunications carriers.

“The central objective of RAPAC is to help carriers understand the incredible value and power of the revenue assurance professionals already working in their environments – and how those RA professionals are the true guardians of margins, profits and revenue within the telco,” said Rob Mattison, GRAPA’s President.

“RAPAC’s belief is that revenue assurance professionals are one of the best investments a telecom can make – because when RA is implemented according to industry standards, RA professionals provide a value and hard financial return that is many times the investment made in them,” said Louis Khor, GRAPA’s Director of Research.

GRAPA members are encouraged to find out more about RAPAC, participate in committee deliberations, or nominate qualified colleagues for various sub-committees.

2010 RA Professionalswas a banner year for the Revenue Assurance profession. We saw a tremendous increase in the number of RA professionals around the world and a significant expansion in management's understanding of the role we play in helping the success of the telco. 2011 promises to hold even more growth, expansion, and surprises.

With over 100 Fraud professionals certified in 2010, GRAPA will continue to improve and expand our fraud program for 2011. We learned a lot during our pilot program, so the 2011 materials will be more focused and better organized, They will set the stage for the posting of our first round of Fraud Management Standards for member comment. This Fraud Program, managed by Louis Khor, promises to provide RA and Fraud Management Professionals with significant upgrades to their current effectiveness in these critical areas.
