MetalTech-USA Metal Building Applications Satisfy Buy American Provision
All metal building applications produced by MetalTech-USA satisfy the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act’s “Buy American” provision. In section 1605 of Title XVI of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, all stimulus-funded public construction projects must use building materials manufactured within the United States.MetalTech-USA zinc roofing and façade systems satisfy this ARRA provision. The architectural grade zinc sheeting used to manufacture all building applications is imported from Germany. All of the alterations and modifications required to manufacture the metal building panels occur within the US MetalTech-USA facility. The necessary components of the metal systems to include the ventilation mats, underlayments, clips and fasteners are also domestic products.
The Buy American measure classifies building materials “produced in” the United States if the modifications and alterations made to a product occur in the U.S. All of the exterior and interior metal applications are developed at the state-of-the-art MetalTech-USA facility. This qualifies all MetalTech-USA zinc roofing and zinc façade applications as domestic goods.
The zinc sheeting material used to manufacture metal roofing and façade systems must be substantially transformed to create the building product for end-use. All of the zinc coils are bent, cut, shaped and formed to unique specifications set forth by the architect or builder. The end products then become a part of the metal building systems. After production, the metal panel system is then identified by a new name under the brand.
“The product for end use must be designed to meet unique specifications, and once the panel cladding is manufactured in our facility, it is then referred to by a new name, which satisfies all aspects of the ARRA provision,” explains Eric Simonsen, VP of MetalTech-USA.
MetalTech-USA is proud to assist the building and design community in satisfying the ARRA domestic manufacturer provision with its metal roofing and zinc façade products.
MetalTech-USA is a premier distributor and specialty fabricator of eco-friendly architectural metals that specializes in roofing, rainwater, soffit and cladding systems. For more information, visit www.metaltech-usa.com, or call 770-486-8825.
