Press release from: MRB Public Relations

Humbug Telecom Labs provider of carrier-class fraud prevention, detection and telecom analytics for any size business, today announced that it has becomes the latest member of TM Forum. TM Forum is a global industry association focused on simplifying the complexity of running a service provider’s business. As an established industry thought-leader, the Forum serves as a unifying force, enabling more than 775 companies across 195 countries to solve critical business issues through access to a wealth of knowledge, intellectual capital and standards.

“It is increasingly critical for service providers to be diligent in their approach to telecom fraud,” noted Aileen Smith of TM Forum. “Humbug Telecom Labs’ contributions to TM Forum’s collaboration work in this area are expected to play an important role in helping our community prevent and detect fraud costing our industry nearly $80 billion annually.”
Humbug Telecom Labs has begun working with multiple service providers to bundle fraud prevention detection and analytics tools directly into hosted and premise based telephone systems. Providers that care enough to provide these security measures to their customers will have a distinct advantage over competitors that leave open doors to identity theft, privacy, corporate espionage, and theft through PBX hijacking.
“Telecom fraud is causing carriers to lose 4.5% of their revenue. No business is immune. It is a daily occurrence that doesn’t discriminate by size, industry or location,” said Yaniv Rofé, CEO of Humbug Telecom Labs. “Most service providers and virtually all businesses have no idea it is happening and do little to prevent it. TM Forum can be a key resource in helping Humbug Telecom Labs spread the word.”
