Robots to Replace Human Workers - Foxconn
According to the latest technology news, Foxconn, the company that manufactures Apple's iPhone and iPad parts announced that it is going to replace human workers with robots within the next three years.According to the said company, one of the most search about topic as placed by a reputed software development company, has the aim that it will replace human worker with a million robots in three years time.
Why robots when there is human workers? When asked this question, the CEO of the company Terry Gou said the with this move from the company, it is aiming to cut labor expenses and also improve efficiency.
The company goes on to say that, the robots will be assigned simple tasks such as welding and assembling parts which is currently done by human workers. The company currently has ten thousand robots doing such task and is expected to reach three hundred thousand next year and shortly in three years time, it is expected to hit a million mark.
Foxconn has its numerous operation based in China, a country where not just one IT outsourcing company vies for but many. The company has been in the news headlines a number of times triggered by the string of suicides that prompted reputed companies like Apple, Sony, HP and other companies to launch investigations into the business practices of the company.
The latest inclusion of the company in the news apart from the announcement of human workers to be replaced by robot is the news about the explosion in Foxconn's Chengdu plant in China leaving two people dead and another sixteen injured.
