Press release from: Law Office of Corso & Rhude

Law Office of Corso & Rhude cautions parents, students that such cases require the experienced Arizona DUI defense lawyers at the Law Office of Corso & Rhude. Combined, the Law Office of Corso and Rhude has handled more than 15,000 DUI cases as prosecutors and defense attorneys.

Peoria, AZ. July 26, 2011 -– As Arizona teenagers and college students go back to school this August, the risk of marijuanadrug charges and DUIs goes up, according to the Law Office of Corso & Rhude.

Studies show that college students are prone to a variety of risky behaviors, including drinking and marijuana use. According to Health News, 56 percent of college students engage in binge drinking, and CollegeDrinkingPrevention.gov states that more than 70 percent drink alcohol at least once a month.

And college students also make up the largest percentage of marijuana users, according to the National Survey of Drug Use and Health. Sobering statistics for parents of students at Arizona colleges like Arizona State University, University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University.

“Those statistics are deeply concerning to parents,” said Christopher Corso, of the Law Office of Corso and Rhude, “And suspicion of these risky behaviors by law enforcement can have unanticipated, long-term impacts.”

For instance, DUI charges in Arizona can have serious consequences for a college student’s future. Even a first offense carries mandatory jail time. And DUIs in Arizona are a criminal offense punishable by up to six months in the county jail and up to a $2,500 fine plus an 84 percent surcharge.

It’s why such cases require the experienced Arizona DUI defense lawyers at the Law Office of Corso & Rhude. Combined, the Law Office of Corso and Rhude has handled more than 15,000 DUI cases as prosecutors and defense attorneys.

“A law officer may issue a DUI for driving under the influence of alcohol or marijuana, if either is suspected,” Corso said. “That’s why families need an experienced DUI defense firm on their side.”

The Law Office of Corso & Rhude works hard to include all family members in the legal process, communicating with their clients and their families every step of the way. Including everyone in the process alleviates stress during the legal process.

“We often work with families who are simply stunned by the situation they find themselves in,” said John Rhude, partner in the Law Office of Corso and Rhude, “and they’re understandably worried about their child’s future. We work hard to defend their son or daughter.”

Corso agreed. “Regardless of the situation, we work to ensure that our clients retain their legal rights and that their families are always in the loop and aware of each step we take in the process of their child’s defense,” he said.

The Law Office of Corso & Rhude is well versed in both family law and criminal law. As former Maricopa County prosecutors, they have more than a decade’s worth of combined experience in the prosecutor’s office. The legal team believes that everyone has the right to experienced attorneys who will fight for their rights, helping to educate their clients in the hopes of lessening the occurrences in the future and including their families in all proceedings.

In addition to DUI defense, the Law Office of Corso & Rhude handles all criminal defense cases, including domestic violence defense, possession of drugs, felony drug charges, photo radar, criminal speeding, disorderly conduct and marijuana possession.

The experienced defense lawyers at Corso & Rhude serve clients throughout Arizona, including the cities of Ahwatukee, Avondale, Buckeye, Chandler, El Mirage, Gilbert, Glendale, Goodyear, Mesa, Peoria, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Sun City, Tempe, Tolleson and Youngtown.
