The Infinity School Celebrates Gandhi Jayanti And Daan Utsav At Dr. Ruhi Foundation School

October 1st, 2019, Noida.

Children spent a memorable day, sharing their knowledge & belongings with the underprivileged peers, as a part of Daan Utsav and Swachhta Hi Seva Hai causes observed by The Infinity School this month.

A delegation of students from The Infinity School in Greater Noida West, visited Dr. Ruhi Foundation School —a registered NGO that supports the education of underprivileged children in Noida, a day before Gandhi Jayanti.

In light of Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra 2019, Daan Utsav—one of India’s biggest philanthropic initiatives observed across the country from October 2nd to 8th every year, students volunteered to share their knowledge, belongings, and learning materials with their fellow students.

Intellectual aid is the best aid that one can give to others. The father of India, Mahatma Gandhi, believed education is the greatest medium to draw the best in people, in body, mind, and belief. Considering the thought, primary students organised the following activities to make the Dussehra week memorable, exciting & more enriching for children at Dr. Ruhi Foundation School.

- Quiz on Mahatma Gandhi (Familiarising their contemporaries with the beliefs, doctrines & teachings of Gandhi Ji, and his valuable contribution to the Indian national movement)

- Jodo Gyaan (Teaching addition & subtraction through fun board games)

- Animal Legos (Building animal figures with Lego blocks, as per The Infinity School’s Robotics curriculum)

- Pipe Cleaner Craft (Designing Gandhi Ji’s glasses using flexible pipe cleaners).
Meticulous instructions and close interactions made the experience enjoyable for all the kids. The students and teachers thoroughly enjoyed the activities that were independently conducted by The Infinity School students.

Under the Swachhta Hi Seva Hai drive observed by The Infinity School in Noida Extension between 16th September and 2nd October, 2019; students & teachers raised awareness on personal cleanliness, hygiene, and healthy habits. They hosted a special assembly for the staff in the school on 1st October, 2019. Pre-primary teachers narrated a fun story highlighting the importance of good habits, as a part of Gyaan Daan activity. Also, students distributed cleanliness kits to the less fortunate in paper bags made by them.

All in all, it was a relaxing, enlightening and mentally stimulating week for all. Children learned the value of empathy and sharing. The photos and videos of the event are available on the official school website.
