Parmigiani, Official Watchmaker Of The Cbf Joins Forces With The Brazilian Football Legend Ronaldo

Parmigiani has signed a unique partnership with the legendary Confederaçao Brasileira de Futebol. A new communication initiative illustrating the brand's desire to support the creators of legends.

The legend of Brazilian football has captured the hearts of millions of fans all over the world thanks to its unique passion and spirit. The CBF has been at the centre of this phenomenon for almost 100 years. Swiss watchmaker Parmigiani Fleurier is proud to be able to join forces with this legend and announce its partnership with the CBF as official watchmaker.
The CBF, the governing body responsible for the national football team, which includes both the Brazil women's team and the men's team, is also in charge of the Brazilian championship and the Brazil Cup. In 2014, it will celebrate its centenary. In the same year, the FIFA World Cup will be held in Brazil. This double will be a milestone for the country, whose Seleção are five time World Cup champions.

• Backed by its partnership with the CBF until 2015 at least, Parmigiani is honoured to be able to invite, from today, customers and media from across the world to attend matches played by the main teams and international championships.
• Already a partner of one legendary French football team (Olympique de Marseille), Parmigiani is staying true to its desire to connect with the sporting talents of the future. And thanks to its association with the CBF, this will also include all the young Brazilian football geniuses the brand will have the honour of supporting. Each year, Parmigiani will reward the best junior (under 21) player, who has shown great sportsmanship and exceptional playing technique.
• Official watchmaker of the CBF, Parmigiani has created a unique collection of Parmigiani Pershing models to mark this partnership. It will be unveiled in June 2011.
Sporting legends are a source of inspiration for Parmigiani. One of them bears the name of the brilliant Brazilian footballer Ronaldo, also known as “il fenomeno”. On 06 June 2011, at the press conference organised for the eve of the friendly match between Brazil and Romania, Ricardo Terra Teixeira, President of the Brazilian Football Confederation, will present him with the first Parmigiani Pershing Chronograph watch from the special CBF collection, in tribute to his brilliant career.
Engraved with the iconic emblem of the CBF on the case-back, the timepiece offered to Ronaldo is clad in the official colours of the Brazilian Football Confederation: gold, blue and green. The two-tone Pershing chronograph, in steel and rose gold, features the symbolic intense shade of blue on its dial, decorated with a “Côtes de Genève” guilloche pattern. The small seconds indexes are replaced by green stars representing the five World Cups won by Brazil. In turn, the hour and minute chronograph counters are enhanced by green numerals and yellow gold hands.
The Pershing collection, made to measure by Parmigiani in tribute to its partnership with the CBF, will be unveiled in full to mark the friendly match between Germany and Brazil in early August.
